Caring A Little Less Every Day

about: i don't understand unions

First off, I don't understand why the fuck we're striking. We're all giving up a hundred bucks a week so we can get what, a nickel raise or some shit like that? So you give up a few hundred dollars just so that you can make $30 extra every three years in wages? Real fuckin smart...

And to those of you who want to be scabs. Sure, it's $10 an hour. Sounds good now, but I can guarantee you that it won't last more than 30 days. Try putting that on a job application. "So you worked at Schnucks for just a month? Why only a month? Did they fire you? Is it because you suck? Or were you just a scab?" You work as a scab and you will never get another union job ever again. And, you're screwing over the people like me who don't want to strike. The more scabs the stores get, the longer they can hold out and the longer I'm out of a job. You go and get your $10 an hour for a month and you might be costing me three months worth of wages, not to mention hundreds (or thousands) of other workers in the same cash-strapped position I'm in. So, don't work there, don't shop there, don't even park your car there to have sex in the back seat. You stay away for a while, put the pressure on the stores, they'll come calling us back. I can only hope I can go back to work on Thursday.

Scab picker,
Drew
