about: my smelly day
Today was a great day, despite the fact that I haven't showered since yesterday morning. Actually, let's start with last night. I went to the Cards game with Matt and Stephan. Matt had about 30 straight-A tickets so he cashed in four of them and hooked us up. We walked in the stadium a few pitches late after unsuccessfully trying to scalp the fourth ticket. We stayed in our seats up in the bleeds for the duration of my nachos. They weren't necessarily bad seats, but the guy behind us was already drunk and it was only the bottom of the first. So moved down to my uncle seats hoping maybe they weren't occupied tonight. Somebody was there so we moved further left field and took up seats halfway up section 280-something, under the cover of the upper deck. The game moved kinda slow until the 8th inning when the Cards staged a massive comeback, crossing the five-sided base ten times. We left right after that and hit Jack in the Box (no surprise there) on the way home.
Okay, now today. It was really uneventful, but really good. I woke up at noon and ate lunch. Normally, I'd substitue lunch for a late breakfast but nothing looked good breakfast-wise so I threw in some pizza rolls and sat down to my latest book, Strong Motion by Jonathan Franzen. My brother had left the TV on to Fuse, an alternative rock music video station. It lasted me maybe 20 minutes. I wanted some sort of music on, but this wasn't cutting it. So I browsed through the music channels and came upon the jazz station. It was great. It played just the sort of jazz I really like, small groups with the focus on one instrument, especially piano. So for the next two or three hours, I sat curled up on the couch, reading my book and munching on pretzels. It was a good day. And I still haven't showered.
