about: longest short ever
Ugh. Today was the shortest shift I've had since starting at Schnucks. Ironically, it was also the longest. The female baggers have a tendency to skip their hour-long cart shift. They just don't do it. Then guys like me, Greg, and Matt get stuck with every cart in the lot and none in the store. So we gotta fucking clean up after these bitches who don't get shit from anybody for not doing their job. Greg was out today doing his shift and the two before him and he came inside to cool off for about three minutes. They called him on the intercom, "Greg, out to carts, please." They never call any of the girls out to carts when it's their turn. And they're inside for a whole fucking hour. I know it sounds sexist here, but I'd be ragging on the males if they didn't do it. It just happens to be only the girls that don't do it. It's part of the job and if you can't do your job, you don't keep your job. Which brings me to my next point that royally pisses me off. I'm not on the schedule for next week. I have no hours. This, according to Matt, is how they fire people without actually telling the person that they no longer have gainful employment. They just write you off and let you figure it out, like a bad Dilbert cartoon. So I think today may have been my last day. Or maybe not. I don't know. They wouldn't tell me if it was. But the chicks that don't do carts? They all have hours next week. Lots of hours. Fuck all of them. They can all kiss my ass. I'm going to work at the airport.
