about: rollercoaster day
Today was one rollercoaster of a day. I had a job interview scheduled at 9 a.m. so I was planning on getting up about 7:45. After my brother woke me up about five times between 7:15 and 7:45, I rolled out of bed at 7:50. I spent too much time "getting ready" (which means eating breakfast and reading the funnies) so I scrambled out the door just on time. So I was driving to Schnucks for my interview, right, and I'm 30 seconds away and I start to hear this really loud humming coming from behind me. I pull over in a gas station right there to check it out but then realize I have no money to call anyone and no time to fix it. So I said screw it and drove the rest of the way on the rim. They weren't quite ready for me yet, so I commandeered their phone and called my dad (who was golfing) and my mom (who was working). No help there. But it's cool, I don't need to be anywhere except where I'm already at. So I do my interview, fill out all the forms, get the job. Easy stuff. But now again, I'm faced with a flat. So I call my mom again and get some of her style advice: "Leave the car and have a friend pick you up." Beautiful. I called Jake. He picked up Mike Rich and they dropped by about 20 min. later and we put on the spare. But now I have to use the truck to go to my flight today, I gotta get a new tire put on tomorrow before my orientation, then I have a flight from 3-5 and a softball game at 6:15. Stuff never spreads itself out for me. I always get huge clumps of crap to do at the most inconvenient times. I wish I was the type of person that liked this.
