about: yet another apology
Again, another joke, another head bitten off. I seriously need to stop writing sarcasm and inside jokes online, they're so hard to detect. But I must admit, I did come off as a huge ass on that valedictorian entry of mine. Everyone on that list has worked unbelievably hard to be valedictorian, and should be commended for that. Everyone on the list deserves their reward for the three-and-a-half years they put in for this honor. I'll even say that some deserve it even more than I do.
But to my entry. I joke around all the time how I want to "screw people over" so that Jake and I are the only valedictorians. Do you honestly believe I want to do that? And how would I even go about doing that? Sure, I'd love to be up there alone, but who wouldn't? I'm sure everyone on the list has a little part of them that would like the honor just to themselves. But I'm not the type of person who would hurt others to achieve that. I'd like to think that people know me better. I'd like to think that people know me enough to know I joke around and know when I'm being so absurdly irrational that I can't possibly be taken seriously. But, once again, I see that some people do take me seriously, and to those I apologize. The valedictorians of the class of 2004 are a fine group of people, and one I have no problem sharing the stage with. I extend my congratulations to all of them for an achievement of a lifetime.
My apologies and congratulations,
Drew
